 Group demands declaration of Aba North Assembly seat vacant, threatens protest A group known as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youth Groups has mandated the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emereuwa to declare the Aba North seat vacant in seven days. The Aba North seat has been a subject of controversy since November 27, 2023, when the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos sacked Destiny Nwagwu of LP and declared Aaron Uzodike of the PDP, the duly elected member to represent Aba North. However, the seat has remained unoccupied since November 2023, as Uzodike of PDP has not been inaugurated by the Speaker, despite his several appeals. A fresh controversy erupted Friday, as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youths Groups, asked the Speaker to declare the seat vacant within seven days or expect a city-wide protest in Aba. LAGOS POLICE ARREST FRAUD SYNDICATE


Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected fraudsters at Iyana Church Bus stop, Lagos after receiving credible information from concerned citizens. 

The suspects, Orji Chinedu ‘m’ aged 38, Uche Godwin ‘m’ aged 37 and Ifeoma Nathaniel ‘f’ aged 51 years, who were arrested on October 9, 2023 were in the business of picking passengers from Iyana Church Bus Stop, with a Toyota Camry with registration number LSD 497 AA. The suspects ran out of luck when some persons recognized them and raised alarm.  

On receipt of the information, police officers from Sabo Division raced to the scene, arrested the suspects and recovered their operational vehicle. 

Investigation revealed that after the suspects picked up passengers, they would deliberately start an argument about dollars in the boot, making unsuspecting victims intervene in the argument, and subsequently get defrauded. 

The suspects will be arraigned at the conclusion investigation.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
