  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. LAGOS POLICE ARREST FRAUD SYNDICATE


Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected fraudsters at Iyana Church Bus stop, Lagos after receiving credible information from concerned citizens. 

The suspects, Orji Chinedu ‘m’ aged 38, Uche Godwin ‘m’ aged 37 and Ifeoma Nathaniel ‘f’ aged 51 years, who were arrested on October 9, 2023 were in the business of picking passengers from Iyana Church Bus Stop, with a Toyota Camry with registration number LSD 497 AA. The suspects ran out of luck when some persons recognized them and raised alarm.  

On receipt of the information, police officers from Sabo Division raced to the scene, arrested the suspects and recovered their operational vehicle. 

Investigation revealed that after the suspects picked up passengers, they would deliberately start an argument about dollars in the boot, making unsuspecting victims intervene in the argument, and subsequently get defrauded. 

The suspects will be arraigned at the conclusion investigation.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
