 Two APC aspirants withdraw from Anambra Gov primary election Ahead of the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra scheduled for tomorrow, two of the aspirants have withdrawn from the race Sir Paul Chukwuma from Umueri, Anambra North and Chukwuma Umeoji from Aguata withdrew from contest on Friday. Chukwuma, who was one of the leading contenders for the APC ticket, proceeded to resign from the party He told party members that he will keep supporting President Bola Tinubu in the Renewed Hope Agenda in repositioning Anambra, despite leaving the party According to him: ” Mr President is not the problem of APC, but some of the unprogressive elements who don’t want the party to move forward. “I’ve resigned from the party by tendering my letter to the ward chairman of the party. Man arrested for stealing two horses in Niger state

The Niger State Police Command has arrested one Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu, for stealing two horses from a farm at Chekungi village.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, October 12, 2023, said the stolen horses were recovered from the suspect and returned to the owner. 

“On 04/10/2023 at about 1430hrs, a case of missing horses from a farm at Chekungi village via Bida was reported at ‘A’ Div Bida, that on 03/10/2023 at about 2110hrs, two female horses were missing from the stable where about five horses were kept,” the statement reads.

“The complainant strongly suspected one Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu ‘m’ of Zaria, Kaduna who was in the farm and he had been visiting the farm for horse grooming and racing

“The suspect was immediately arrested from the farm and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime that he moved the two horses to a nearby bush from the farm, while he later hired a vehicle from the park to move the horses to Kaduna at a cost of one hundred thousand naira

“Based on the confession, the driver of the vehicle was contacted and he dropped the horses at Mararaban-Jos, Kaduna, while another vehicle was arranged to convey the horses back to Bida

“However, the suspect is in custody, case is under investigation and he will be arraigned in court for prosecution immediately after the investigation is concluded.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
