 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. NIDCOM TO INVESTIGATE ALLEGED KILLING OF A NIGERIAN BY CHINESE
IN PHILIPPINES


The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM says it will investigate a viral social media news item on the death of a Nigerian student, identified as Ikem, who was allegedly murdered by a group of Chinese in the Republic of Philippines.

A statement by NIDCOM Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols  Abdur-Rahman Balogun
says though the matter has not been officially reported to the Nigerian embassy in the Phillipines, but the commission has asked the “ eyewitness “ who posted the gory incident on his social media handle to provide more details to the Commission email. 

It explains that the Commission will set the machinery in motion to investigate the matter and unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
