 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

President Tinubu Communicates the Senate seeking confirmation of three additional ministerial Nominees Namely DR Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas and Olawale Olawande
 

President Bola Tinubu has transmitted three additional names of Ministerial nominees to the Senate.

The three nominees are Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas and Olawale Olawande.

This is coming barely three months after the upper chamber of the National Assembly confirmed 45 nominees with various portfolios.

Balarebe Abbas is the current SSG to Governor Uba Sani and also held same position under former Governor El-Rufai.

This is coming after the Nigerian Senate rejected the nomination of Mallam Nasiru El Rufai as ministerial Nominee from Kaduna state.

Balarebe Abbas Lawal is the current Secretary to the Government of Kaduna State.
