 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. Senate swears in Yohanna to replace Elisha Abbo

The Senate on Wednesday, Oct. 25, swore in Amos Yohanna as the new Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District.

The swearing-in was performed by the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, who presided over the plenary.

Yohanna, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party replaces Abbo, who was sacked by the Appeal Court last week Monday..

The Court of Appeal, Abuja had sacked Abbo, a member of the All Progressives Congress.
