Freddie Jackson, R&B Legend Behind “You Are My Lady” and “Rock Me Tonight,” Dies at 70 R&B has lost one of its most unmistakable voices. Freddie Jackson, the singer whose smooth delivery helped define romantic R&B during the 1980s and gave generations of listeners songs including “You Are My Lady,” “Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake)” and “Have You Ever Loved Somebody,” has died. He was 70. Jackson’s death was announced Tuesday, October 6, through his verified Instagram account. According to the memorial shared by his family and team, the singer died Monday night, October 5. The announcement did not disclose a cause of death. “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Freddie Jackson,” the statement read, describing the singer as a generous soul who loved his fans, family, friends and music. She’s best friend I’ve ever had – Will Smith says he’ll continue to support Jada Pinkett

American actor Will Smith has said he would continue to support his wife, Jada Pinkett, for “the rest of my life” despite the talk show host’s recent revelation that she and her husband have been separated for seven years.

Pinkett disclosed in a clip from her forthcoming NBC News primetime special with Hoda Kotb that she and her husband have been living separately since 2016.
However, speaking at a press briefing, Will said Jada is “the best friend I have ever had on this planet”, stressing that he would continue to support her.
He described their marriage as a “slappy public experiment in unconditional love.”
“Our union is a slappy public experiment in unconditional love. Can you love somebody forever, no matter what? Can you love somebody for the rest of your life even when you don’t remember them?
“Jada is the best friend I have ever had on this planet and I will support her for the rest of my life,” AfroNews quoted Will Smith as saying.
