 Four North Carolina utility workers were tragically killed when a dump truck driver drove through a stop sign and crashed into a crew of workers. This heartbreaking incident occurred at 1:23 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in Eden, North Carolina. According to reports, a City of Eden dump truck driven by 66-year-old Michael Vernon ran a stop sign at the intersection of Carroll and Church Street in Eden. After blowing through the intersection, Vernon struck 6 utility workers with Duke Energy who were working on power lines for Carolina Power and Signalization. The dump truck then struck an occupied bucket truck before going off the road into a ditch. Four of the utility workers were sadly pronounced deceased on the scene while 2 others were life-flighted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Tinubu’s Daughter Under Fire Over Her Independence Day Speech

Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, first daughter of President Bola Tinubu, has been receiving a barrage of backlash on X, following a video of her Independence Speech on social media.

In a viral video on Monday, Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, urged Nigerians to keep the hope alive despite myriad of challenges facing the country.

“Happy Independence celebration to every Nigerian, especially my beloved father, Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and mother of the nation, my own mum, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON.”

“The founding fathers, founding mothers of our great nation Nigeria, we need to keep our hopes alive, the flames of hope must continue burning in us. Our hope is being renewed and I’m very positive that this Nigeria will still work for every Nigerian And all the beloveth sons and daughters, the founding fathers, the founding mothers,” she said.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison.
