 Thugs Break Into Mortuary in Nzhelele, allegedly stole equipment An elderly security guard was brutally attacked during a break-in at Luvhani Mortuary in Nzhelele, Limpopo, on Friday. According to reports, unknown suspects assaulted the guard with a pick handle and an axe. He sustained serious injuries to his head and legs and was rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment. The suspects allegedly stole equipment from the mortuary before fleeing the scene. Police have opened a case and are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify and arrest the suspects.

Vice President Shettima Arrives In Beijing

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Beijing, China, on Monday to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. 

The Vice President, was received at the Beijing International Airport by the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Peopleā€™s Congress, Mr Li Yingjin, and the Deputy Director of the African Affairs Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Yu Yong.

Nigeriaā€™s Ambassador to China, Baba Jidda, was also on hand to receive the nationā€™s number two citizen.

He will join world leaders from over 130 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America at the Forum to deliberate on the theme, ā€œHigh-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity.ā€

Shettima is also billed to hold bilateral meetings with other world leaders to promote the countryā€™s trade and investment relations in line with the economic development agenda of the Tinubu administration.

The 2023 edition of the BRI, will mark the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), championed by the President of China, Xi Jinping, as an initiative for global infrastructure development strategy.

Beijing, the capital city of China, is wearing a new look in readiness to host leaders from all parts of the world.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will declare the summit open and deliver a keynote address at the opening ceremony on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
