 LAWMA APPREHENDS 300 FOR WASTE DISPOSAL OFFENCES The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has arrested over 300 persons and prosecuted many for waste disposal infractions in a renewed offensive, through surveillance and investigative activities. The arrests resulted from a collaboration with the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) day and night surveillance efforts, aimed at identifying and apprehending individuals and businesses involved in illegal dumping across the city. Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, confirmed that the agency had deployed comprehensive strategies, including the use of surveillance teams and mobile enforcement units, to monitor environmental infractions and ensure compliance with sanitation laws. A businessman who was abducted in Lagos has narrated his ordeal in the kidn@ppers ’ hideout.


The businessman asked not to be named because the kidn@ppers threatened to come back for him if he speaks about the incident.


He explained that he was kidn@pped by four h00ded men who cornered him as he was going to enter his car parked in the garage in Ago Palace Way, Lagos. He was released two weeks later after his family paid N30 million as ransom.


His abductors called a day after, demanding a ransom of N100 million but family members and friends were able to raise N30 million before he was released.


He told Crime Guard: ā€œI felt that I could only talk about the trauma and psychological torture they subjected me to so that it will arouse consciousness and alert security agencies over what to expect in the coming days.ā€


He continued: ā€œI saw hell in the hands of those kidn@ppers and they were boasting that they will soon take over Lagos and the police cannot match their firepower.
