 NAFDAC Reopens Onitsha Drug Market After Month-Long Closure The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reopened the Onitsha Head Bridge drug market, popularly known as 'Ogbo Ogwu', after a month-long closure for sanitization and regulatory enforcement. The market was shut down as part of NAFDAC's nationwide clampdown on fake and substandard medicines. To prevent a recurrence of the issues that led to the closure, NAFDAC has implemented strict administrative conditions for reopening. Shop owners are required to complete documentation and clearance procedures before their shops can be unsealed. A dedicated NAFDAC desk has been established to facilitate the process efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.² According to NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, only shops that meet the conditions will be allowed to resume operations. ZAMFARA: GUNMEN ATTACK MARU LGA 


Armed men suspected to be bandits have killed six people and abducted one in Dansadau village of Maru local government area of Zamfara State.

In an interview with some eye witnesses, the bandits invaded the town Tuesday while many people were observing their Zuhur Prayer, riding motorcycles in their large numbers and shooting sporadically . 

According to them, the gunmen shot people along Dansadau motor park and main market were four people sustained serious injuries during the attack.

According to them, four people who sustained injuries are receiving medical attention at Dansadau General hospital while six were killed instantly.

Similarly, the bandits also attacked Maru Emir's palace were they killed one person Malam Yukasharu a physically challenged Person and abducted one Hassan Sani Marafa an IT Officer attached to the Palace.

Investigation by Newsmen in Gusau revealed that, the attack occurred around 8:30 pm few minutes after the return of the Emir from journey, but the police on duty at the palace repealed the attack and dispersed the bandits before the arrival of the patrol team.

It is well known that, Maru local government has become inaccessible as bandits made the area their territory, adding that, the Divisional Police Officer attached to local government Kazeem Raheem was killed by bandits, Police Sergeant Rabiu Bagobiri,, Shehu Chika an intelligent civilian JTF and other people ware killed, kidnapped by bandits.
