 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. 3 Palestinian Students Shot Near US Campus

The families of three Palestinian students shot in the US state of Vermont have urged police to investigate the attack as a hate crime.

Hisham Awartani, Tahseen Ahmed and Kinnan Abdalhamid were confronted and shot by a man near University of Vermont Campus, Burlington police said.

Officers are investigating a possible motive, but say the victims were wearing keffiyeh - a traditional scarf - and speaking Arabic when attacked.

A suspect has been arrested.

Burlington police have named the suspect as Jason J Eaton, aged 48

Local police chief Jon Mura earlier said two victims were in a stable condition; the third has suffered more serious injuries.

All three students attended Ramallah Friends School, a Quaker-run private non-profit school in Ramallah, according to family members.

Mr Abdalhamid, was named by Haverford College as one of its students. The other two have been named as Brown University student Mr Awartani and Mr Ahmed, who attends Trinity College in Connecticut.
