4 PERSONS KILLED AND 9 OTHERS INJURED IN A CLASH IN NIGER.

Four people have been killed and nine others injured in a clash between Fulani's and Gbagi's at Beji in Bosso local government area of Niger state.

Commissioner of Normadic and Pastoral Affairs Alhaji Umar Ahmed Rebe who confirmed this to Radio Nigeria in an interview in Minna the Niger state capital said  the incident occurred yesterday.

Alh Umar Ahmed Rebe attributed the spate of violence in that area to illegal migrants that are crossing through other states and taken refuge in Beji that have been mounting pressure and creating a lot of problem that had resulted to this unfortunate incident.

Just few days ago his Ministry had received report of such illegal migrants coming from Kebbi state to Borgu local government area of Niger state but has despatch it's officers to that place and study the situation and report back for necessary action.

Alh Umar Ahmed Rebe who appealed to both of them to be calm as Niger state government is doing it's best to bring an end to this crisis and ensure that all perties are happy also appealed to the Fulani's not to embark on reprisal attack because stakeholders are currently discussing on lasting solution to the problem.

He however said that Niger state Ministry of Normadic and Pastoral Affairs further have so far settled sixty sixth cases of farmers herders and vigilante cases across the state and that they are currently going round first class Emirs in Niger state for advocacy soliciting for peace without which he said there could be no meaningful development.

Alh Umar Ahmed Rebe added that after their meeting they are thinking of the possibility of setting up a committee to fish out those instigating the crisis and suggest ways of providing permanent peace.
