 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. BENUE STATE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL SLASHES CHILD DELIVERY COSTS TO N5,000

In a concerted effort to realize one of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s visionary goals and alleviate the discomfort associated with childbirth, the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, under the leadership of Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, has significantly reduced the medical expenses for child delivery to just N5,000.

Additionally, the hospital has waived the fees for medical cards for pregnant women and children under the age of five at the Muhammadu Buhari Mother and Child Hospital, overseen by Chief Medical Director, Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande.

Dr. Hwande, in discussions with the press, explained that these initiatives are steps taken to enhance healthcare services throughout the state, benefiting all residents of Benue. He emphasized that the goal is to establish these hospitals as paragons of best practices in the healthcare sector.

Furthermore, the CMD expressed his dismay at the mismanagement tactics employed by the previous administration, which had severely impacted the BSUTH medical facility. He noted that Governor Alia’s administration, with a strong focus on citizen welfare, is fully dedicated to ensuring that the medical sector in Benue State not only meets global standards but also serves as a reference point for others to follow.

In conclusion, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to assisting Governor Hyacinth Alia in delivering on his campaign pledges to the people of Benue, particularly in his designated area of responsibility.
