 Legendary actor Manoj Kumar dies at 87: ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan’ director breathes his last in Mumbai Manoj Kumar, the Bollywood actor and filmmaker, renowned for his patriotic films, passed away at the age of 87 at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The cause of his death was identified as cardiogenic shock due to acute myocardial infarction, according to medical reports. The medical reports confirmed that apart from a severe heart attack that took away his life, Manoj had been battling decompensated liver cirrhosis for the past few months, ANI reported. Following deteriorating health condition, he was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025. Popularly known as ‘Bharat Kumar,’ Manoj Kumar was an exceptional director and actor who was honoured with National Film Award. Burna Boy, Rema win inaugural Billboard Afrobeats awards

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy and Rema have made history as they emerged the first-ever winners of the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BMAs).

The ceremony took place on Sunday at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Burna Boy swooped the ‘Top Afrobeats Artiste’ award ahead of fellow Nigerians Wizkid and Tems.

Reacting to his latest win at the Billboard Afrobeats awards, Burna Boy dedicated the gong to African artistes.

The self-styled African Giant noted that the recognition is just a “tip of the iceberg”.

“This is dedicated to Africa and every artiste coming out of Africa, this is for you and yeah man the future is bright,” he said.

“You guys are going to see the vision. This is just the tip of the iceberg, you are going to see the whole vision soon. Salute! Love.”

Meanwhile, Rema also went home with an award as he won the ‘Top Afrobeats Song’ category for his global hit ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez, the American singer.

Morgan Wallen was, however, the top winner of the night with 11 awards, while Taylor Swift became the biggest female winner with 10 prizes.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
