 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. Burna Boy, Rema win inaugural Billboard Afrobeats awards

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy and Rema have made history as they emerged the first-ever winners of the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BMAs).

The ceremony took place on Sunday at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Burna Boy swooped the ‘Top Afrobeats Artiste’ award ahead of fellow Nigerians Wizkid and Tems.

Reacting to his latest win at the Billboard Afrobeats awards, Burna Boy dedicated the gong to African artistes.

The self-styled African Giant noted that the recognition is just a “tip of the iceberg”.

“This is dedicated to Africa and every artiste coming out of Africa, this is for you and yeah man the future is bright,” he said.

“You guys are going to see the vision. This is just the tip of the iceberg, you are going to see the whole vision soon. Salute! Love.”

Meanwhile, Rema also went home with an award as he won the ‘Top Afrobeats Song’ category for his global hit ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez, the American singer.

Morgan Wallen was, however, the top winner of the night with 11 awards, while Taylor Swift became the biggest female winner with 10 prizes.
