 PRESS RELEASE  National Dialogue on Power in Health Sector: FG Sets Up Committee To Resolve Electricity Challenges In Public Healthcare Facilities  The Federal Government has inaugurated an Implementation Committee for National Stakeholders Dialogue on Power in the Health sector, aimed at achieving sustainable electrification of public healthcare facilities. The primary objective of the national dialogue is to amongst others enhance public- private partnerships to ensure a steady electricity supply to public health institutions.  It will also identify alternative and sustainable solutions by exploring renewable energy options, backup power systems and, energy-efficient solutions to enhance power reliability in tertiary and other health facilities across the  country.  Cheating in Examination Undermines the Integrity of Education – ICPC


The Adamawa State office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), in collaboration with NYSC Anti-Corruption Community Development Service (CDS) recently sensitised students of Aliyu Mustapha College, Yola, on the dangers of examination malpractices.


According to the ICPC Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC) Adamawa state, Barrister George Lawal “Cheating in examination undermines the integrity of the educational system and is capable of creating an unfair advantage to those who engage in it; and that is not limited to education, but also with far reaching consequences on society”.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
