 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. Chef Dammy invited by police for questioning over petition allegedly filed against her by her pastor; granted administrative bail

Chef Dammy was today November 23 invited for questioning by men of the Police AIG zone 17 in Akure, Ondo state following a petition allegedly filed against her by her pastor.

 

Confirming reports of her invitation, the spokesperson of AIG Zone 17, DSP Hakeem, said the police received a petition against Chef Dammy and she was invited by the police. He said Dammy honored the invitation this afternoon November 23 and was thererafter granted administrative bail after providing a surety.

‘’She is not inour custody. She was not detained'' he said
 
Recall that Chef Dammy came to limelight after she attempted to cook for 120 hours straight, days after Hilda Baci broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Hours by an individual. Dammy who had the backing of her pastor and church members, later fell out with him. She went on to accuse him of threat to her life. The clergyman then filed a lawsuit against her, demanding that she retracts the threat to life allegation.
