 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL PRESS STATEMENT ATIKU MUST EXPLAIN THE LEGAL AND FISCAL BASIS OF HIS PETROL SUBSIDY PROPOSAL At his press conference in Abuja on Friday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his proposed  “production subsidy” for locally refined petrol, which he said would reduce pump prices. He went further to ask President Bola Tinubu to slash the cost of diesel and petrol at the pump. That proposal raises important legal, fiscal and practical questions that he must answer. Section 205(1) of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 provides that unrestricted free-market conditions shall determine wholesale and retail prices of petroleum products. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in a statement on Saturday, explained that it neither fixes pump prices nor issues administrative price templates, except where the statutory conditions for intervention are met. Chef Dammy invited by police for questioning over petition allegedly filed against her by her pastor; granted administrative bail

Chef Dammy was today November 23 invited for questioning by men of the Police AIG zone 17 in Akure, Ondo state following a petition allegedly filed against her by her pastor.

 

Confirming reports of her invitation, the spokesperson of AIG Zone 17, DSP Hakeem, said the police received a petition against Chef Dammy and she was invited by the police. He said Dammy honored the invitation this afternoon November 23 and was thererafter granted administrative bail after providing a surety.

‘’She is not inour custody. She was not detained'' he said
 
Recall that Chef Dammy came to limelight after she attempted to cook for 120 hours straight, days after Hilda Baci broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Hours by an individual. Dammy who had the backing of her pastor and church members, later fell out with him. She went on to accuse him of threat to her life. The clergyman then filed a lawsuit against her, demanding that she retracts the threat to life allegation.
