 Panic as Oyo demolishes shop in popular Ibadan market Panic gripped residents and traders of the popular Ojoo market in the Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State as the government demolished scores of shops and kiosks in the area, on Thursday. The PUNCH gathered that the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development had served the traders quit notice a long time ago but they refused to move out of the market. The Chairman of the market,  Muhdeen Ganiyu, fondly called Elewedu, however, told our correspondent that the quit notice was too short but the executive members of all the affected markers would meet after the demolition exercise. “The quit notice was too short. All executive members of all the affected markers will soon meet. So, I cannot say anything for now,” he stated.  Dubai Police discusses Seaports Strategic Plan "2024-2033"


Under the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Pilot Ahmad Mohammed Bin Thani, Assistant Commander for Seaports & Airports Affairs, attended a workshop that aims to generate ideas, innovations, proposals, and future visions to support Dubai Police strategic plan 2024-2033.  This was in the presence of Major General Ali Atiq bin Lahej, Director of the General Department of Airports Security, Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, in addition to directors of general departments and police stations in the Seaports Sector. 

Maj Gen Pilot bin Thani emphasized the importance of the workshop for the seaports sector in discussing proposals and visions that aims at developing work mechanisms in this vital sector at across Dubai. He stressed the need to provide the best services to the community easily and smoothly, in accordance with the highest international standards, and in line with the rapid and successive developments in the technological, technical, digital, and other fields.


He pointed out that the workshop discusses the work visions and future plans in the presence of directors of general departments in the Ports Sector, as part of the strategic plan for Dubai Police 2024-2033. He also mentioned that the workshop, named "Strategic Focus Groups," aims to discuss the most important challenges facing police work and develop appropriate innovative solutions, as well as explore future trends to achieve the vision of the Dubai Police General Command in excellence and leadership at the local and global levels.


During the workshop, participants were briefed on the purpose of the workshop and the tools used to generate future ideas in support of the strategic plan for the Dubai Police 2024-2033. The participants discussed future perspectives, visions and a set of recommendations to support the strategic plan.
