 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school. Farmers Receives Solar Pumps In Kwara 

Farmers in Kwara state have been supported with Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps for dry season farming by the Rural Electrification Agency in Collaboration with the National Fadama Development Projects to enhance food security in the State .

Presenting the solar-powered irrigation pumps, the Higher Technical Officer, Rural Electrification Agency, North Central Zone, Engineer. Adebayo Babatunde, stated that the initiative is aimed at improving utilisation of Land and Water Resources across the major rivers in the country. 

According to him the implementation of the programme by the agency started with thirteen pivotal states including Kwara.

Engineer Babatunde said the beneficiary subproject sites selected include communities with Farmers' User Groups (FUGs), surface water schemes, subproject sites requiring upgrades in electrification infrastructure among others. 

Receiving the items on behalf of the Kwara State Government, the Project Coordinator, Kwara Fadama CARES, Dr. Busari Isiaka, thanked the Rural Electrification Agency for supporting Farmers in the state to increase their productivity.

He said the initiative will complement various support schemes being executed by the state government.END
