 [ASSEN SAPS MEMBERS ASSIST WOMAN IN GIVING BIRTH AT POLICE STATION] Assen SAPS members assisted a female suspect who went into labour at the police station on Thursday, 8 October 2026, helping her deliver a healthy baby girl before she and the newborn were taken to a medical facility. According to reports, members were on duty at Assen SAPS under the command of Sergeant Chidi, when they received a telephone call regarding the arrest of a female suspect at Msholozi informal settlement in Kameeldrift. Constable Olivier and Constable Mokhutshoane responded to the call and arrested the suspect, who was reportedly in good health and had no visible injuries at the time of the arrest. She was subsequently taken to Assen SAPS. While at the police station, the suspect began experiencing labour pains and an ambulance was immediatly summond. Farmers Receives Solar Pumps In Kwara 

Farmers in Kwara state have been supported with Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps for dry season farming by the Rural Electrification Agency in Collaboration with the National Fadama Development Projects to enhance food security in the State .

Presenting the solar-powered irrigation pumps, the Higher Technical Officer, Rural Electrification Agency, North Central Zone, Engineer. Adebayo Babatunde, stated that the initiative is aimed at improving utilisation of Land and Water Resources across the major rivers in the country. 

According to him the implementation of the programme by the agency started with thirteen pivotal states including Kwara.

Engineer Babatunde said the beneficiary subproject sites selected include communities with Farmers' User Groups (FUGs), surface water schemes, subproject sites requiring upgrades in electrification infrastructure among others. 

Receiving the items on behalf of the Kwara State Government, the Project Coordinator, Kwara Fadama CARES, Dr. Busari Isiaka, thanked the Rural Electrification Agency for supporting Farmers in the state to increase their productivity.

He said the initiative will complement various support schemes being executed by the state government.END

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
