  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. I’ll Ensure N/Assembly Creates Constitutional Role For Traditional Rulers – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised that his administration would work with the National Assembly to create a constitutional role for traditional rulers in the country.

Tinubu stated this on Sunday in Ondo town at the 70th birthday celebration of Oba Victor Kiladejo, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, held at the Diocese of Ondo (Anglican Communion), Cathedral Church of St. Stephen in Ondo City.

The president, who was represented by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, assured the traditional rulers that his government would promote peace and security in their respective domains to help enhance their rich and cultural heritage.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, in his congratulatory message, said the Ondo monarch’s counsel to his administration has been found invaluable and development-focused.

Remarking, Oba Kiladejo, who appreciated Tinubu for the honour of attending his 70th birthday and 17th anniversary on the throne, commended the president for appointing Tunji-Ojo as one of his ministers, who he described as an outstanding performer.
