 Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry. Artan, who is set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup finals, was stopped at Miami International Airport and subsequently returned to Istanbul, where he had been residing. The reason for the denial was not immediately disclosed. However, Somalia is among the countries affected by a travel ban introduced by the administration of Donald Trump. I’ll Ensure N/Assembly Creates Constitutional Role For Traditional Rulers – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised that his administration would work with the National Assembly to create a constitutional role for traditional rulers in the country.

Tinubu stated this on Sunday in Ondo town at the 70th birthday celebration of Oba Victor Kiladejo, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, held at the Diocese of Ondo (Anglican Communion), Cathedral Church of St. Stephen in Ondo City.

The president, who was represented by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, assured the traditional rulers that his government would promote peace and security in their respective domains to help enhance their rich and cultural heritage.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, in his congratulatory message, said the Ondo monarch’s counsel to his administration has been found invaluable and development-focused.

Remarking, Oba Kiladejo, who appreciated Tinubu for the honour of attending his 70th birthday and 17th anniversary on the throne, commended the president for appointing Tunji-Ojo as one of his ministers, who he described as an outstanding performer.
