 African Airlines record 5.7% decreased demand for air cargo in February — IATA African airlines recorded a 5.7% year-on-year decline in air cargo demand in February 2025, with capacity decreasing by 0.6% in the same period. Capacity, measured in available cargo tonne-kilometers (ACTK), dropped by 0.4%, although international operations saw a 1.1% increase. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) report showed that global capacity decreased by 0.4%, with international operations showing a slight increase of 0.4% in demand. Globally, air cargo demand fell by 0.1% compared to February 2024, marking the first decline since mid-2023. “African airlines saw a 5.7% year-on-year decrease in demand for air cargo in February. Capacity decreased by 0.6% year-on-year,” the report read in part. JUSUN declares indefinite strike in Osun

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, Osun State Chapter has embarked on an indefinite industrial action with immediate effect.
The strike was declared on Wednesday by the chairman of JUSUN in the state, Oluwagbenga Olakunle Eludire.
The strike is coming on the heels of the protest on Monday and Tuesday by Osun JUSUN over the allegations of maladministration against the embattled Osun Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo.
The JUSUN members also accused her of unduly persecuting some members of staff and denying them entitlements ranging from restoration of training exercises, arrears of wardrobe allowances from 2021 to 2023and reinstatement of judiciary staff in the state suspended by Justice Adepele Ojo.
“Regularisation and promotion exercise without further delay should be effected.
“Also other benefits that members of JUSUN are entitled to should be effected without further delays.”
Eludire directed all Judiciary workers in the state to stay away from the courts and their offices and withdraw their services.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
