 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Kaduna Governor Assures Of Corps Members' Safety

Kaduna State Government has pledged to continue supporting and encouraging Corps Members by fulfilling it's obligations to the scheme.

Governor Uba Sani stated this at the opening and swearing in ceremony of the twenty twenty three Batch B stream 11 orientation course held at the NYSC Temporary Camp in Kaduna.

The Governor who was represented by the Special Adviser on Revenue Matter, Alhaji Umar Waziri said his administration would ensure maximum safety and security of Corps Members during their service year.

He called on them to live up to their responsibilities in their service to the nation, while urging them to take advantage of various skills acquisition programs organised by the government to better themselves.

The State Coordinator, Mr Hassan Taura in a remark, thanked the Governor for his support and cooperation to the scheme and he added that at the end of registration, one thousand four hundred and one prospective Corps Members were registered.
