 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL PRESS STATEMENT ATIKU MUST EXPLAIN THE LEGAL AND FISCAL BASIS OF HIS PETROL SUBSIDY PROPOSAL At his press conference in Abuja on Friday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his proposed  “production subsidy” for locally refined petrol, which he said would reduce pump prices. He went further to ask President Bola Tinubu to slash the cost of diesel and petrol at the pump. That proposal raises important legal, fiscal and practical questions that he must answer. Section 205(1) of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 provides that unrestricted free-market conditions shall determine wholesale and retail prices of petroleum products. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in a statement on Saturday, explained that it neither fixes pump prices nor issues administrative price templates, except where the statutory conditions for intervention are met. Kebbi Begins construction of N3.8bn Yauri Road

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has flagged off the rehabilitation of the N3.8 billion Yauri Township Road.

Flagging off the projects at Yauri Market, the governor promised to continue to support the people and provide them with the dividends of democracy.

Governor Idris stated that the contract awarded to China Zhounghou Nig. Ltd. would cover 5.1 kilometres.

Also, the Emir of Yauri, Dr Zayyanu Abdullahi, thanked the governor for fulfilling the promises made during the electioneering campaign.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Works and Transport Engineer, Abdullahi Umar Faruk, explained that the scope of work for the project includes complete scarification of existing carriageways, construction of RC drains and culverts, provision of subbase and base courses, provision of MCI and asphalt overlay, shoulder surface dressing, and desisting of existing drains.
