McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace. #KogiDecides2023: Kogi LGA chairman allegedly arrested with ammunition, cash

Security operatives on Saturday allegedly arrested the council chairman of Igalamela Local Government Area of Kogi State, James Onoja, for possession of ammunition and lots of cash.


The money and the ammunition it was gathered were packed in several ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags.


The money and ammunition were allegedly meant for use during the election.


A video shows the suspects sitting on the floor near an army checkpoint.


In a viral video, both the council chairman and his gang were seen expressing regrets and pleading for forgiveness.


The Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi State, William Ovye did not respond to inquiries at the time of filing this report.


The elections so far have been marred with several allegations of vote-buying amidst low voter turnout.


The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dino Melaiye has called for cancellation of elections conducted in five LGAs in the state.
