 Okpoko Building Collapse: Ojukwu Condemns Illegal Structure, Orders Demolition ‎ ‎By Chukwuka Ugokwe ‎ ‎The Anambra State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Bar. Chijioke Ojukwu, has on Oct 8, described the collapse of a three-storey building under construction in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area, as unfortunate. ‎ ‎The incident, which occurred in the Anata Anaba area of the town, claimed the lives of a middle-aged woman and her 14-year-old daughter, amid allegations that warnings about the safety of the building had been ignored. ‎ ‎The victims, identified as Happiness Ugoagu and her daughter, Chikaima, were reportedly asleep in their bedroom when the building collapsed onto their residence. ‎ ‎Ojukwu, who visited the scene alongside officials of the ministry, alleged that substandard materials had been used in the construction.  Lagos state government crushes 1500 seized motorcycles


The Lagos state government on Monday, November 27, crushed 1500 seized motorcycles. The state Comissioner of Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary to the ministry, Wale Musa, inspected the crushing of the 1500 seized motorcycles at the premises of the Lagos State Taskforce. 


The Lagos state government shared photos on its X handle on Monday, November 27.


"Commissioner for #lagosMOT1, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi with the Permanent Secretary, Mr Wale Musa, at the crushing of 1500 seized commercial motorcycles at the Lagos State Taskforce premises on Monday, 27th of November 2023."


The state government banned the use of motorcycles in so parts of the state in 2022 and have since seized a number of motorcycles whose riders faulted the ban.
