 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. Nigerian graduate burns academic certificates after 13 years of unemployment


A frustrated Nigerian graduate of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, identified as Olutimain Alvin has burnt all his academic certificates.

Alvin set all his certificates from primary school to university ablaze following his inability to secure a job after 13 years of graduation.

In a viral video on social media, Alvin said: “I graduated in 2010, did my NYSC in 2011. Over 13 years, I have not used these certificates to do anything. It is better to even be illiterate than to have useless certificates.

“What is the essence of a certificate when I have to drag jobs with illiterates ever since I graduated”, he asked.

He, however, advised parents to ensure their children learn skills that can enhance their productivity without relying on a white-collar job.
