 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. Oshoala, Nnadozie shortlisted as finalists for CAF award

Ahead of the 2023 CAF awards scheduled to be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 11, Super Falcons players – Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie have been listed among the final ten nominees for the CAF women’s Player of the Year award.

The apex football body in Africa made this known on Monday via its X account.

Earlier, CAF announced the full list of nominees for the award comprising Nnadozie, Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Osinachi Ohale, Toni Payne and Christy Ucheibe.

Oshoala in 2022 beat Zambia’s Grace Chanda and Ajara Nchout Njoya of Cameroon to claim the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award for the fifth time.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum, made it as the coach of the year while Deborah Abiodun and Esther Ajakaye made it as finalists for the Best Young Player of the Year.

The Super Falcons team also made it as finalist for the women’s national team of the year.
