  Governor Bago Clarifies Dreadlocks Remark, Denies Discrimination Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has dismissed claims that his administration is targeting people with dreadlocks, stating his earlier comments were misunderstood. Addressing concerns over recent security measures, Bago clarified that the state’s focus is on tackling cultism, not hairstyles. “We have no issue with dreadlocks—only with the cult activities linked to them,” he said, stressing that law-abiding citizens with dreadlocks are welcome.  He labeled the backlash as media misrepresentation, saying, “We are not driving out dreadlocks, but eliminating cultism threatening public safety.” Watch video below.

POLICE ARREST MASTERMIND BEHIND DANGOTE-CEMENT-PRICE-SLASH SCAM



The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Benjamin Ezeukwe aged 28 for masterminding and fleecing hundreds of innocent Nigerians in an elaborate cement-price-slash scam.

Benjamin was arrested on October 19, 2023 in Rumuolumeni area of Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State following weeks of intensive investigation by officers of Area A Command of the State Command. Found in his possession were one Tecno phone, one IPhone,

three SIM cards including that of 08039691980 which he used for the scam and a Toyota Avalon, which investigation revealed to be a proceed of his crime. 


The suspect had in September, 2023 created a bogus but convincing online advert purportedly by Dangote cement

claiming a massive price slash. Numerous unsuspecting customers fell prey to the scam, losing millions of Naira to the suspect. 


Investigation has so far revealed that the suspect had perpetrated several other similar scams. Suspect has since been arraigned.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
