 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026.  Retired Oyo permanent secretary found mürdêrêd at her residence in Ibadan


A retired Permanent Secretary with the Oyo State Government, Ms. Elizabeth Olaniyan Gbenle, was gruesomely murdered by unknown assailants in her house in Ibadan, the state capital.


According to the Nigerian Tribune, the incident happened at the deceased's residence, along All Saints College Road, Idi Ishin, off NIHORT area of Ibadan between Thursday and Friday last week. 


A source told the publication that the 69-year-old woman was strangulated after her assailants tied her hands and legs.


She was reportedly found with her tied hands and legs on Friday morning while she still had the dress she wore on Thursday on her.


The killers were said to have taken her two vehicles, phones and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.


It was gathered that the killers came to the deceased’s house a day after she reported to the police that her life was being threatened by some hoodlums who used to smoke marijuana close to her residence.


Ms Gbenle reportedly had a maid staying with her, but she left two months ago. 


It was further learnt that the deceased was supposed to have hosted a meeting of the retired permanent secretaries and heads of service on Thursday, November 16, before her gruesome murder.


The deceased’s only child, a daughter, is said to be a medical doctor.


It was gathered that detectives in Oyo State Police Command had begun investigations on the murder case.
