Benue Governor Claims Foreign Terrorists Behind Deadly Attacks Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has alleged that the perpetrators of recent deadly attacks in the state are not Nigerians, describing them as foreign nationals speaking unfamiliar languages and exhibiting non-Nigerian characteristics. The governor made the remarks on Tuesday following a wave of violence that has killed scores and displaced many in the North-Central state. Speaking on the identity of the attackers, Governor Alia emphasized the need to clarify the nature of the threat. “We know Nigerians—by our ethnicities, we can identify a Fulani, Yoruba, or Hausa man. Rivers Crisis: 'If Fubara is Thinking That Wike is Going to Forgive Him, He's Just Joking' — Maxwell Opara

Maxwell Opara, a lawyer, has emphasised the unforgiving nature of political conflicts, specifically referencing situations in Rivers, Ondo, and Edo. He suggested that politicians, like Wike, won't easily forgive perceived betrayals or opposition. Opara indicated that if Fubara believes Wike will forgive him, he is mistaken.

During the interview with AIT, Opara implied that political dynamics, such as potential impeachment scenarios, can impact alliances and support for second tenures.

According to him, "That of Rivers, that of Ondo, and that of Edo, once, politicians will never forgive. So if Fubara is thinking that Wike is going to forgive him, he's just joking. So he should understand that if they miss impeaching him now, he's not going to support him second tenure. If Shuaibu says that having going to apologise to Obaseki, no, it's their game. The one of Ondo State is the same thing."
