 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. Asake, Davido, Burna Boy, others make Obama’s favourite music of 2023 list

Former American President, Barack Obama has included four Nigerian songs in his favourite music of 2023 list.

The songs are ‘Unavailable’ by Davido featuring Musa Keys, ‘Amapiano’ by Asake featuring Olamide, ‘Me & U’ by Tems, and ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ by Burna Boy featuring 21 Savage.

South African singer, Tyla’s ‘Water’ was also included in the list released by the former US President on Friday.

The list featured music from around the world including Latino, pop, Afrobeats, Hip-hop, Grime, Reggaeton, Reggae, Dancehall, R&B, and Soul.

Sharing the list via his X handle, Obama wrote, “Here are some of my favourite songs from this year. Let me know if there are any artists or songs I should check out.”.
