 Orji Uzor Kalu Vows Tinubu Will Win Abia in 2027 Election Former Abia State Governor and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has declared that President Bola Tinubu will secure victory in Abia State during the 2027 presidential election. Speaking at an Abia APC stakeholders’ meeting he hosted at his private residence in Abuja on Thursday, Kalu expressed confidence in rebuilding the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to ensure a strong electoral performance. Kalu emphasized unity among party members, urging them to forgive past grievances and work together to strengthen the APC. “There is no faction in APC. I am committed to the rebuilding of the party and the overall unity of the APC in Abia State to support President Bola Tinubu in achieving his Renewed Hope agenda for the good of all Nigerians,” he said. BRITISH POET BENJAMIN ZEPHANIAH, PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 65.(PHOTOS).

The British poet Benjamin Zephaniah has died aged 65 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. 

The son of a Barbadian postman and a Jamaican nurse, he was born and raised in Handsworth, Birmingham. 

He was dyslexic and left school aged 13, unable to read or write. But despite this, he published his first book aged just 22 and ended up becoming a familiar face on TV, credited with bringing Dub Poetry into British living rooms.

His work often addressed political injustice.
May his soul rest in peace,  Amen.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
