 GOVERNOR UZODIMMA CALLS FOR LOVE, UNITY, HIGHLIGHTS PROGRESS IN IMO STATE  In his Easter message delivered after the Holy Eucharist at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish in Omuma, Oru East LGA, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma CON, emphasized the central theme of the Easter season — Love. The Governor called on citizens to extend the spirit of Easter beyond mere celebration, encouraging them to embody love, unity, and compassion in their daily interactions and civic responsibilities. He commended the people of Imo State for their steadfast commitment to these virtues and urged continued efforts to promote a caring and united society. Highlighting the state's achievements, Uzodimma pointed to his administration’s people-centered policies and projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Imo residents. EFCC Commission's Ilorin Zonal Office


The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, this morning, December 21, 2023, joined the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr Ola Olukoyede to commission the new office complex of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC. 


Among other dignitaries at the event are:  Executive Governor of Kwara State, Malam Abdulralman Abdulrasaq; Chief Judge of Kwara State, Hon. Justice Abiodun Adebara; Comptroller of Nigeria Correctional Service, Adebayo Oyun; Director, Public Affairs Department, DCE Wilson Uwujaren; S.A to the Minister of Justice, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN; Ilorin Zonal Commander, Michael Nzekwe.


Others at the colourful event are the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alh. Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; a foremost Nigerian Industrialist and the Jagunmolu of Igbaja, Alhaji Abdulraheem Oladimeji;  Vice Chancellor of the Alhikma University, Prof Noah Yusuf.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
