 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. FG To Ensure  Youths  Inclusion In  Governance

Federal government says it will ensure youths inclusiveness in it's development initiatives to enable them  contribute to nation building.

Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio-Ibrahim, stated this during her maiden visit to Ilorin the Kwara state capital.

She commended  President Tinubu for giving her the mantle to steer the affairs of youths in the right direction. 

Dr Jamila Bio- Ibrahim said President  Tinubu's led administration is youth driven as most of its policies are geared towards maximizing the potentials embedded in young people for a better Nigeria.

The Minister noted that the Kwara state governor had displayed exemplary leadership in taking cognisance of the roles of women in his administration's  policies and programmes.

In an address of welcome , Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Ms Nafisat Buge, reiterated the state government's commitment in collaboration  with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development towards  ensuring effective youth participation and inclusion in governance and creating an enabling environment for them to thrive.

She described the Kwara State Governor as a pacesetter for youth participation in governance in the country.

In a  remarks, the  Kwara State  Coordinator of  NYSC, Mr.  Olaoluwa Onifade, urged the youths to ensure success of   government  agenda on  nation building  .
