  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. FG Unveils New Foreign Policy


Federal Government has unveiled its Four D foreign policy document in Abuja.


At the launch, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar said the new foreign policy document was aimed at showcasing the values and interests of Nigeria.


Ambassador Tuggar said the four Ds foreign policy document which centered on Democracy, Development, Demography and Diaspora were aimed at enhancing good governance and improving the living standard of the people through development.


He explained that the Four Ds foreign policy direction of the Tinubu-led government would take advantage of the nation’s population as well as the Africa Continental Free Trade Area to enhance economic development in the country.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs said the policy would also look into the need to reform Nigeria’s engagement with international financial institutions for the benefit if all.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
