 DELTA STATE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, GUN RUNNERS AND; RECOVERY OF TWO (2) AK-47 RIFLES, AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION The Delta State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in an intelligence-led operations targeting suspected kidnappers and illegal arms trafficking syndicate within and beyond the State. 1. ARREST OF FIVE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS/ RECOVERY OF ONE AK-47 RIFLE AND THIRTY-SIX (36) ROUNDS OF 7.62MM LIVE AMMUNITION: On 24 April 2026 at about 1830hrs, operatives of the command's tactical team based in Ughelli, acting on credible intelligence arrested one Ahmadu Usman (m), 22, a native of Lafiya, Nasarawa State, at Ekuigbo area of Ughelli in connection with a kidnapping syndicate terrorising commuters along Ughelli–Warri Road. FIRE DESTROYS 17 OFFICES IN GWALE LG KANO. (PHOTOS ).



Fire Destroys 17 Offices In  Gwale LG Kano


 Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the destruction of 17 offices, in an early morning fire at Gwale Local Government Secretariat.


Public Relations Officer of the service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to Radio Nigeria in Kano.


According to him,the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning.


He explained that, the agency received a distress call at about 03:43 a.m. from Abdullahi Hassan that there was a fire outbreak at Gwale Secretariat.


Saminu pointed out that, upon receiving the information, a team was immediately  mobilized to the scene at about 03:46 a.m to bring the fire under control.


Saminu  maintained that, the ground floor of about 300 x 200ft used as office and others, totalling 17, were completely razed down.


The public relations officer maintained that, a 406 Peugeot, one Haice bus and a station wagon ambulance were slightly burnt.


He said that the cause of the fire was being investigated by the service.
