  Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the pastor of Christ Embassy, has blamed the Covid-19 vaccine for the death of Pope Francis.  Oyakhilome said that when the coronavirus vaccines came out, Pope Francis was one of those who encouraged people to take the vaccine and he also took it to serve as an example.     The pastor, who has made no secret his distrust for the Covid-19 vaccine, added that he was against the pontiff's stance on taking the vaccine.    He stated that since the Pope took the vaccine, he has been sick and in and out of hospital.  "He was killed by the vaccine," Oyakhilome said boldly. Guinea-Bissau dissolves parliament after coup attempt

The President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Embalo, issued a decree on Monday dissolving the parliament after an attempted coup in the West African nation.

Violence had erupted between members of the national guard and special forces of the presidential guard on Thursday night in the capital, Bissau, leaving two people dead before the army ordered its forces back to barracks.

Embalo, who was in Dubai attending the COP28 climate conference, arrived back in Bissau on Saturday and announced that an “attempted coup d’etat” had prevented him from returning earlier.

On Monday, he said there had been “complicity” between the national guard and “certain political interests within the state apparatus.”

That meant “the normal functioning of the institutions of the Republic has become impossible,” he added.

“The date of forthcoming legislative elections will be set at the opportune moment, in line with the constitution,” Embalo said in a communique.

Since gaining independence from Portugal in 1974, the country has seen a series of coups and coup attempts.
Elected to a five-year term in December 2019, Embalo survived a bid to overthrow him in February 2022.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
