  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. 'It's meaningless' - Wizkid speaks on life after mother’s death


Grammy-winning music star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that life has been meaningless to him since he lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun.

The singer took to his Instagram story to express heartbreak over his mum’s death, revealing that since she died, life hasn’t returned to normalcy for him.

He noted how he made ‘IDK’, one of his latest songs, after his mother’s death because life to him is meaningless despite having four kids.

In another post, he stated that sometimes, one has to let everything go and work with God.

He wrote: “Made idk days after I lost my mum. Life’s been meaningless! But we dey!!

Sometimes u got to let everything go. Work with God!.”

Wizkid lost his mother in August 2023 and she was buried the following month.

Born on July 14, 1957, Jane is survived by her husband,, Muniru Olatunji Balogun, and four children.

Her children are Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun.

Born in Surulere on July 16, 1990, Wizkid grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother.

Last month, the multiple award-winning singer hinted that he is on a five-year hiatus from music.

The Afrobeats star stated that he would be taking four or five years off the music scene.

He added that he is considering taking up football or golf.

Writing in broken English, he wrote, “Back in 4 years, make una papa chop him money small or maybe five or I fit still go dey play ball now.

“Or make I start dey play golf. fifa or wrestling b*tch!”All of una dey craze! Everybody dey mad.

“On some G shit, I hope you mofuckas alright body mind and soul and taking time out to enjoy with your loved ones.”

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
