 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates. The President/CEO Security Watch Africa Initiatives, Mr Patrick Agwumba, presents Crime Reporters' Association of Nigeria "Initiative Award in NSCDC Image Making," to Deputy Superintendent of Corps Abolurin Oluwaseun, Public Relations Officer ( PRO ), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, for his eloquent, dogged, rugged and prolific and unrepentant strides, which affirm his selfless, sagacious, diligent and outstanding performances over the years, in his quest to professionally, project the image of the NSCDC at home and abroad in this generation.

He received, the award along side so many other distinguished and outstanding serving Generals, Senior Military, Police, Paramilitary officers, government and private sector officials, who have contributed, immensely, to the development of their organizations and Nigeria at large.

The Chairman of the occasion, Dr Solomon Arase, former Inspector - General of Police and Chairman Police Service Commission and other distinguished speakers and panelists are amongst those, who were present at the event, which held today, Thursday, 7th December, 2023, at the Providence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja.
