 BENUE APC CRISIS: I'M GOING NOWHERE - GOV. ALIA 11th April, 2025      Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has disclosed he is not leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) for another party, despite the ongoing crisis in the state’s APC. The governor made this clarification during a media chat yesterday at the Government House in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, saying that such insinuation is coming from mischief-makers. “I am not going anywhere, for the records,” he said, adding that those pushing that narrative do not wish him and the state well. “I am not stupid to follow the bandwagon of mischief makers to take the state down into the dungeon again. “I came into politics to restore Benue to its lost glory; otherwise, I would have remained a priest. I would have remained in a local environment with my people.  Lagos state government reopwns 3rd mainland bridge

A statement released by the state Commissioner for Transportation announcing the reopening if the bridge reads


“We are pleased to announce that parts of the Third Mainland Bridge which were closed last month will reopen today 21st December, 2023 by 6pm.

Following essential maintenance, the entire bridge is now fully accessible to the public, ensuring smoother connectivity and safe commuting.

We appreciate your patience during the temporary closure and understand the inconvenience it may have caused. The reopening reaffirms our commitment to infrastructure upkeep and public safety.

We wish you a joyful holiday season and safe travels.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
