 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. NEW YEAR MESSAGE: IGP ADVOCATES LOVE, TOLERANCE FOR PEACEFUL NEW YEAR


As we welcome the dawn of a new year, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, on behalf of the Officers of the Nigeria Police Force extends warm wishes to all Nigerians. In the spirit of unity and progress, he calls upon citizens to embrace love and tolerance as pillars for fostering peace across the nation.

In these times, the IGP emphasizes the importance of collective efforts in building a harmonious society urging communities to strengthen the bonds that unite us and foster understanding among diverse groups. By embracing love and tolerance, the IGP affirms that we can overcome differences and work together towards a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.

The IGP reiterates that the Nigeria Police remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens while encouraging the public to collaborate with the Police and other security and law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activities that may threaten the peace and well-being of our communities.

Together, let us embark on a journey of compassion, understanding, and cooperation. May this new year bring about positive transformations for our great nation.
