 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. LAGOS STATE COMMANDANT WARNS COOPERATIVE DEFAULTERS, EXTOLS OUTGOING EXECUTIVES FOR DISPLAYING EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP.



The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, MFR, fdc, mnim, mpa, fisn, fcss has warned, cooperators, who have been tagged as defaulters in his command, to decease from the fraudulent and unscrupulous act, if they must witness the growth and expansion they crave for in the society.


The Lagos State Commandant further charged, the cooperative executives, to put stringent measures in place to check such fraudulent acts capable of dettering the progress and success of the command's cooperative society. 


He was represented, at the 15th Annual General Meeting of the NSCDC Lagos State Command Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, by Deputy Commandant of Corps Marian Mbakwe, Head of Crisis and Disaster Management, where he made the emphatic statement above, yesterday, Saturday, 16h December, 2023.


The dissolution of the outgoing executives, inauguration of newly elected executives, presentation of 2022 financial statement of account, presentation of awards to the Lagos State Commandant and Patron, 

presentation of the Society's and outgoing Chairman's awards for exemplary leadership, other deserving cooperators and executives, presentation of cheques to retirees and the families of deceased members, a policy that was initiated, by the outgoing executives in line with the laws guiding the society, amidst others were the highpoints of the event, which marked, the begining of a new administration to be managed, by Superintendent of Corps Soetan Kehinde Peter, Chairman and his fellow executives.


The Lagos State Commandant also seized, the occasion to extol the outgoing executives led, by Assistant Commandant of Corps Ade Ajayi Samuel, Chairman and his fellow executives, for displaying exemplary leadership during their two terms in office. 


He then as well charged, the new executives to brace up and live up to the expectation of members, with the dream to surpass the achievements of their predecessors.
