 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower. As President Rolls Out Empowerment Scheme; Event to Span 6th to 8th December 2023

The Police Officers' Wives Association (POWA) is eagerly anticipating its annual conference week, slated to take place from the 6th to the 8th of December, 2023. This significant gathering is poised to unveil a transformative empowerment scheme spearheaded by the POWA President, Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Egbetokun.

This conference, spanning three days, is strategically designed to offer members a platform for engagement, collaboration, and empowerment. Mrs. Egbetokun's unveiling of the empowerment scheme is expected to be a pivotal moment, marking a commitment to positive change within the community of police officers' families. Beyond its ceremonial significance, the conference will address crucial issues affecting police officers' families, underscoring POWA's dedication to community building and the overall welfare of its members.

The Annual Conference Week will feature an opening ceremony at the POWA National Secretariat, Mambilla Barracks Asokoro; Empowerment and Sports at the POWA International School Area 11, Garki, Abuja; and a Dinner and Awards event at the Space and Function Event Centre, City Park, Wuse 2, Abuja. The empowerment scheme is a multifaceted initiative aimed at uplifting and supporting POWA members. Activities include skill acquisition programs, capacity-building workshops, and economic empowerment initiatives, all geared towards fostering personal and professional development.

The POWA President assures of the commitment of her administration to community service, reiterating that the conference week serves as a focal point for strengthening community ties and fostering unity among members.
