 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. Shane MacGowan, the lead singer from The Pogues, passed away yesterday the 30th of November 2023..

“Shane was a quintessential Irish poet figure, with all that entailed. His voice spoke truth directly to the soul. You had to keep him away from the mini-bar, but hopefully he enjoyed his all-too-brief time on our fair globe.” - Brian Ritchie

A statement on behalf of Shane Mac Gowan’s wife Victoria Mary Clarke, his sister Siobhan and father, Maurice.


It is with the deepest sorrow and heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our most beautiful, darling and dearly beloved SHANE MACGOWAN.


Shane died peacefully at 3.30 am this morning (30 November, 2023) with his wife and sister by his side.


Prayers and the last rites were read during his passing.


He is survived by his wife Victoria, his sister Siobhan and his father, Maurice.


Further details will be announced shortly but the family ask for privacy at this very sad time".
