 Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry. Artan, who is set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup finals, was stopped at Miami International Airport and subsequently returned to Istanbul, where he had been residing. The reason for the denial was not immediately disclosed. However, Somalia is among the countries affected by a travel ban introduced by the administration of Donald Trump. TROOPS OF OPERATION HADARIN DAJI RESCUED 13 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS AND ARRESTED 11 SUSPECTED TERRORIST LOGISTIC SUPPLIERS IN ZAMFARA STATE


The troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) in their relentless efforts and intensified dry season continuous clearance and offensive operations in its Areas of Responsibilities have continued to yield positive results.

In the recent feat recorded the troops have successfully rescued 13 kidnapped victims and arrested 11 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers to a notorious terrorists kingpin in Zamfara state.

On the 17th  December, 2023 the combined troops of OPHD embarked on a search and rescue operation along Gobirawan Chali and Dangulbi areas along the Dansadau axis in Maru local government area of Zamfara State during which the troops rescued 13 kidnapped victims who were abandoned by the fleeing terrorists in the late hours of Sunday.

All the rescued victims are all from Mutunji village of Dansadau Emirate in Maru LGA of Zamfara state and they are currently undergoing medical treatment and debriefing. All the rescued victims were handed over to representative of the Zamfara state government to unite them with their families.

The resilient troops also cleared a notorious terrorists’ hideout at Gidan Jaja in Zurmi LGA of Zamfara State.

Similarly, the OPHD troops arrested 11 suspected terrorists logistics suppliers who supply logistics to a notorious terrorist Halilu Sububu at Kwanar Boko in Zurmi LGA of Zamfara state. The suspects were arrested while conveying 127 bags of grains in 2 Canter trucks belonging to a Terrorists kingpin Halilu Sububu. However, the arrested suspects are undergoing preliminary interrogation.
