 BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE    05 APRIL, 2025   The editors, CP Sani-Omolori appealed for calm as he directed the State Intelligence Department(SID) to initiate a thorough and discreet investigation into the  Dutsen-Tanshi incident. On April 4, 2024, at about 14:45, a concerned citizen reported an incident involving Ahmad Isa Jaja, the Chief Imam of Galli Mosque in the Jahun area of Bauchi Metropolis. During his Friday sermon, the Imam made inappropriate remarks towards the late Malam Idris Abdulazeez Dutsen-Tanshi. This statement incited unrest among the followers of the late Malam Idris, who subsequently gathered at the mosque to express their discontent. In response to the situation, the Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Police Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, Psc(+) Mni, promptly deployed a team of tactical Units led by the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) Dutsen-Tanshi to the location. TROOPS RAID IPOB/ESN CAMPS IN ANAMBRA


Troops of Exercise GOLDEN DAWN III in conjunction with personnel of the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and local vigilante operatives  on Monday 11 December 2023 acting on timely and credible intelligence raided camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it's armed affiliates the Eastern Security Network (ESN)  in Orsumoghu general area of Anambra State. 

During the raid operations the gallant troops cleared the and destroyed  IPOB/ESN camps. One of the terrorist was naturalized while others escaped with gunshot wounds and one pump action rifle was recovered. 

In the same vein, on Saturday 9 December 2023, troops on patrol along  Orsumoghu ~ Ukpor road in Ihiala Local  Government Area came in contact with the irredentist. However, due to superior fire power the criminals were forced to abandon their location. Items recovered includes, 27 rounds of 7.62 x 51mm ammunition, 3 locally made hand grenade, 2 handheld radios, one pair of NPF uniform and fragmental jacket and charms.

It could be recalled that Exercise GOLDEN DAWN III was recently flagged off in the South East region to complement the security architecture of the region during and after the yuletide period. The General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major General  Hassan Taiwo Dada therefore wishes to enjoin members of the public to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies with credible information through the Emergency Telephone Line 193 to enhance the fight against terrorism and other criminal activities. Citizens are also encouraged to go about their normal daily activities and businesses without fear of intimidation.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
