OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Umuada Nsugbe Holds Peaceful Demonstration Over Killing Of Two Sons

The convener Umuada Nsugbe, Mrs Chinyere Attahi had prayed to God and called on Anambra State Government to intervene on the death of their two sons whom were killed by Umueri over land disputes.


Mrs Attahi made the call during a peaceful protest by Umuada Nsugbe to all the nine villages in Nsugbe, seeking for vengeance.


She thanked Gov. Chukuwma Soludo and his boundary teams led by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim for their reactions since the ugly situation happened in Nsugbe, in order to maintain peace  and calmness in the community. 


She also thanked the government for making sure that the culprits were apprehended and kept in police custody.


She pleaded and encouraged government to do more in order to seek justice for their children's death, thanking the youths for listening to the elders by not going to war against Umueri.


Mrs Attahi commended Sen. Tony Nwoye for all his efforts in bringing the matter to the national assembly both red chamber and green chamber.


She pleaded to Anambra Government to come and make a boundary between their neighboring communities, to avoid a repeat of this ugly situation.


Lady Ngozi Onuchebe, appealed to government to come to their aid for umuada and entire community are not happy over the killing and destroying of property.


She consoled the families of the deceased persons and prayed that God of vengeance will react over the killings. 


The Member, Anambra East Transition Committee representing Nsugbe 1 constituency thanked the deputy governor for his efforts since the situation occured, and pleaded to Nsugbe youths not to go to war, for the fight is for the government.
