 PRESS RELEASE FCT POLICE RESCUE SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE OVER ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION OF 5 YEAR OLD CHILD. …CP FCT Condemns such acts as it delays the course of justice The FCT Police Command, on the 4th of October 2026 at approximately 02:46PM, received a distress call reporting that an unidentified adult male was being assaulted by an angry mob over an alleged attempt to abduct a child. Following receipt of the report, police operatives from Kuje Division were immediately dispatched to the scene, where one Bashir Usman was rescued from an irate mob that was about to lynch him. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was being assaulted by the mob over allegations that he attempted to abduct a five year old child in front of her residence in Angwan Lado, Kuje Area Council of the FCT. We Will Not Disenfranchise Any J-Teach Staff - Governor Namadi


Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has assured the 4,500 temporary teachers, known as J-Teach, that the state government will not deprive any of them of employment but has insisted on an aptitude test.


He stated this while fielding questions from newsmen on the protest against aptitude test staged by the J- Teach staff. 


Governor Namadi noted that the recruitment of J-Teach to permanent teachers was designed to be done in phases and in the first phase, they aim to absorb 3,000.


" To ensure justice for all, instead  of making random selection, we organized this aptitude test for selecting the 3,000 out of the 4,500,  and those who did not scale through  will continue to work as J-Teach before next round of recruitment"


"This aptitude test is necessary to ensure only qualified candidates are recruited, and those who can't catch-up we have other plans for them including vocational training and empowerment "


Mallam Umar Namadi further explained  that, the new date for the aptitude test would be announced, but assuring that, no single candidate will be recruited outside J-Teach.
