OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. YULETIDE: NSCDC DEPLOYS 1500 PERSONNEL IN NIGER STATE TO PROVIDE A WATERTIDE SECURITY.



The Niger state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC says it has deployed one thousand five hundred personnel across it's formations in the twenty five Local Government Area’s to tighten and beefs up security before, during and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.


State Commandant, Dr Elijah Etim Willie stated this while addressing officers and Men of the Command in Minna Niger state.


Commandant Dr Elijah Etim Willie stressed the need for officers and men of the Niger state Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp to be more vigilant considering the current security situation in the State.


He however, reminded the personnel  of the need to protect critical national assets and infrastructure with due diligent and called on  officers deployed to exhibit high sense of professionalism while discharging their duties.


The Commandant also directed for the immediate deployment of personnel to worship centers, parks and all entries points to the capital City of the state to ensure a hitch free celebrations.


Dr Ellijah Etim Willie urged Christian’s faithful to use thie Christmas period to pray for the country while calling on the general public to remain calm, law abiding and report any suspicious movement capable of causing unrest to the nearest security outpost for necessary action.
