 *[POLICE PRESS RELEASE]* EKITI POLICE ARREST 11 SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON OMOYELE SOWORE IN ADO-EKITI; INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.  The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested eleven (11) suspects in connection with the alleged attack on Mr Omoyele Sowore, an African Action Congress (AAC) presidential aspirant, and other persons at Tawakalitu Restaurant, Dalimore Area of Ado-Ekiti. Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad(RRS), based on a credible tip-off swooped on the hideouts of the suspects at Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti at about 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, where they were arrested. The suspects are: Joseph Tayo '32yrs', Olatunji Abayomi '41yrs', Isaac Amba '22yrs', Kehinde Ajigbana '18yrs', Tosin David '18yrs', Solomon Iyanu '18yrs', Ogunsola Ayomide '21yrs', Ojo Ayodeji '22yrs', Kayode Dada '32yrs', Segun Olatunji '28yrs' and Salami Emmanuel '53yrs'. YULETIDE: NSCDC DEPLOYS 1500 PERSONNEL IN NIGER STATE TO PROVIDE A WATERTIDE SECURITY.



The Niger state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC says it has deployed one thousand five hundred personnel across it's formations in the twenty five Local Government Area’s to tighten and beefs up security before, during and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.


State Commandant, Dr Elijah Etim Willie stated this while addressing officers and Men of the Command in Minna Niger state.


Commandant Dr Elijah Etim Willie stressed the need for officers and men of the Niger state Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp to be more vigilant considering the current security situation in the State.


He however, reminded the personnel  of the need to protect critical national assets and infrastructure with due diligent and called on  officers deployed to exhibit high sense of professionalism while discharging their duties.


The Commandant also directed for the immediate deployment of personnel to worship centers, parks and all entries points to the capital City of the state to ensure a hitch free celebrations.


Dr Ellijah Etim Willie urged Christian’s faithful to use thie Christmas period to pray for the country while calling on the general public to remain calm, law abiding and report any suspicious movement capable of causing unrest to the nearest security outpost for necessary action.
