 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. 2027: Atiku declares readiness to lead coalition against Tinubu, APC


The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, has declared readiness to lead a coalition of opposition parties to remove the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, come 2027.


Atiku disclosed this in a congratulatory message to governors of the PDP, whose elections were upheld by the Supreme Court on Friday.


In a statement signed by his Media Office in Abuja, Atiku described the decision of the court as good news for the people of Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River and Zamfara states, and indeed, a win for constitutional democracy.


He reaffirmed his position that only a united opposition force can strengthen democracy in Nigeria.


Atiku was quoted as saying, “I am as prepared as ever, to lead the charge, alongside all our leaders and Governors, for the good of our country.”


According to him, “Where Justice is seen to have been substantially rendered, we, as patriots and citizens, will always applaud.”


Atiku equally said by the judgment of the Supreme Court, “there is a guaranteed continuation of the standards of good governance which the PDP has brought to the respective states.”


He called on the respective PDP governors, namely: Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Barr. Caleb Muftwang of Plateau and Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom to see their wins at the Supreme Court as an opportunity to consolidate and expand the scope of the good governance they have already established.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
