 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  APC Inaugurates Campaign Committee For February Re-Run/Bye Election in Jigawa


In preparation for the forthcoming  Re-run/Bye Election , All Progressive Congress Jigawa state chapter has inaugurated campaign committee under the chairmanship of the state Deputy Goverror Engineer Aminu Usman.


Speaking during the occasion held at the state party headquarters ,the  APC chairman Aminu Sani Gumel Said, the  February Re-run election is important to the party and an opportunity for the APC to reclaim the party's missing seat.


He further explained that, the state Governor Malam Umar Namadi after due consultation with all stakeholders approved for the constitution of the committee saddled with responsibility to ensure the party win the Re-run election for the Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal constituency seat.


In his speech after their inauguration, the the chairman campaign committee Engineer Aminu Usman promised to mobilize all stakeholders in the constituency where the Re-run election will take place and beyond for delivering the task given to them.


He said, the people of  Birnin Kudu/Buji have confidence on APC and it's candidate as they enjoyed unprecedented dividends of democracy, therefore he has confidence on wining the Re-run election.


Other members of the Committee include Secretary to State Government Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, member state assembly Buji constituency, state party chairman, all Special Advisers and Assistants to the Governor among others.


It could be recalled that, During the 2023 general elections INEC declared Adamu Yakubu of PDP as winner of the election for Buji/Birnin Kudu federal constituency, the victory which was challenged by  Engineer Magaji Da'U Aliyu of All Progressive Congress.


The election tribunal sitting in Dutse ordered for the re-run election at 8 polling units, ,the rulling which was also upheld by Appeal court and mandated INEC to conduct the re-run within three months to determine the winner.


The total number of 5,642 registered voters  are respect to participate in the only Re-run election schedule to hold on 3rd February 2024 in Jigawa state.
